Business Capability Partnership

The Management Focus is an initiative of the "Business Capability Partnership" .  We believe that in order to unlock the true potential of New Zealand businesses, we must do everything we can to develop capability the of our current, and future, managers. 

That is why we have pulled together a consortium business sector groups, economic development agencies, chambers of commerce, educators, and government departments to established Management Focus as an annual initiative to improve awareness of opportunities that are available to owners and managers to enhance their own capabilities.

By celebrating management excellence, providing practical ideas and identifying resources for managers and business owners the Focus will encourage them to take stock of their current management capability and to steps to enhance it. 

The Partnership was founded on the belief that general business capability has a direct impact on the growth and success of an enterprise, which, in turn, drives profitability.  Our long term vision is that New Zealand business; management and leadership capability are equal to or leads international best practice.

Currently, our other projects include:

The Development Diagnostic Tools for New Zealand Businesses -
a project aimed at delivering a coordinated and consistent package of diagnostic tools supported by a benchmarking database. The tools and database will be for the voluntary use of New Zealand suppliers of capability development services as well as businesses; and

The Business Awards Support Programme -
supporting business awards by providing a New Zealand specific award criteria and enabling participating awards to leverage the experience and knowledge of the NZ Business Excellence Foundation (NZBEF).
